Privacy Policy

When you send an enquiry, Odette’s Cakes & Cookies uses the name, email, phone number and celebration details and optional inspiration photos you provide to respond and help plan your order. Please only include information relevant to your cake enquiry.

Enquiries and email

Enquiries and any inspiration photos are delivered through Resend to our Outlook mailbox. A confirmation email is also sent to the address you supply. Inspiration photos are processed for delivery and are not added to the public gallery. These services process the information needed to send and store your email. Access is limited to those helping manage your enquiry. Your details are not sold or added to a marketing list by this form.

Personalised cookie designs

Your cookie design stays in your browser until you send an enquiry. Submitted designs, your name, email, event date and quantity are available privately in our admin panel for up to 30 days, then automatically removed. Design references without personal details are kept to prevent expired designs being restored by duplicate requests. Enquiry emails and any print requests sent by the admin are handled separately in our mailboxes.

Cake studio designs

The cake studio keeps a draft in your browser tab; choosing Save in browser also stores a copy on this device. When you send a design with an enquiry, the design and contact details are available privately to Odette for up to 30 days. Expired design references without personal details are retained to prevent duplicate requests restoring them. If Odette creates a quote or job from your design, that design becomes part of the separate quote or order record. Enquiry emails are retained separately in our mailboxes.

Protecting the form

When enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile helps protect the enquiry form from spam and may process technical browser and network information. Our hosting and rate limiting services also process limited technical information to keep the website available and prevent abuse.

Instagram and external links

When linked by the owner, the website retrieves recent posts through the official Instagram API and stores resized images locally. Viewing this feed does not sign you into Instagram or send your browser details to an embedded Instagram widget. The owner's access token is encrypted and is removed when the account is disconnected. Facebook, Instagram and individual post links take you to those platforms, which have their own privacy practices.

Website analytics

We measure page views, gallery photo opens, email-link clicks, successful enquiry-form responses , estimated time spent viewing parts of a page and counts of mouse movement within broad areas of a page to improve the website. Analytics uses a random identifier for each page view, with no analytics cookies or persistent visitor identifier. We store the page, date, broad screen-size group and interaction counts in private server storage for long-term comparisons. We do not include your name, contact details, form contents, IP address or recordings of your mouse movements in these analytics. We honour browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control settings.

Your choices

You can email instead of using the form. To ask about information held in relation to your enquiry, request a correction or discuss deletion, please email odettescakesandcookies@outlook.com. Information needed for an ongoing order or required records may need to be retained.
